Web Development

The objective of the Certificate in Web Development is to introduce students to the basic concepts of the server-side web programming languages, and the principles and tools that are used to develop Dynamic Web applications.

CIS 350 – Introduction to ReactJS

Prerequisites: CIS 205

This course provides the knowledge necessary to create interactive UIs using ReactJS. Students will learn how to use React as a base in the development of single-page or mobile applications.

CIS 355 – Introduction to AngularJS

Prerequisites: CIS  205

This course provides the knowledge necessary to declare dynamic views in web-applications using AngularJS, a JavaScript-based open-source front-end web application framework.

CIS 360 – Introduction to PHP

Prerequisites: CIS 205

This course provides the knowledge necessary to design and develop dynamic, database-driven Web pages using PHP, a popular general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited to web development. This course introduces the PHP framework and syntax and covers in depth the most important techniques used to build dynamic Web sites. Students will learn how to connect to any modern database, and perform hands on practice with a MySQL database to create database-driven HTML forms and reports.
