Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert – CCIE – is the Cisco’s highest level certifications.
Overview:
CCIE Certification identifies the upper echelon of networking experts worldwide. CCIE certification is attained in five technical specialties referred to as tracks: Routing and Switching, Security, Service Provider, Storage Networking and Voice. CCIE certified professionals are an elite group; there are less than 13,000 around the world today. Less than 3% of Cisco certified professionals become CCIE. It’s the most desirable certification by the networking professionals. And it’s worth!
Pre-requisite:
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification. Other professional certifications or training courses are not required. Instead, candidates must first pass a written qualification exam and then the corresponding hands-on lab exam. You are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the topics in the exam blueprints and strongly encouraged to have three to five years of job experience before attempting certification.
