Web Design 1

The objective of the Certificate in Web Design I is to provide a basic knowledge and skill for students to become professional web designers. The courses in this program will give students hands-on exposure to cutting-edge web design software that will provide them with the wide array of skills needed to create a complete website.

CIS 120 – Introduction to Web Design

Prerequisites: None

This Course introduces students to the basic principles of web design through the use of Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud – a graphic designing and editing software. Students get hands-on experience in digital imaging, which is an essential skill for various designing professions including web and graphic design, product design, advertising, marketing, publicity, photography, and arts.

CIS 175 – HTML/CSS

Prerequisites: CIS 120

This course aims at introducing students to the basics of Internet programming through scripting languages. Students will learn how to write HTML and CSS codes to create web sites that integrate their newly acquired programming skills.

CIS 180 – Introduction to Dreamweaver

Prerequisites: CIS 175

In this course, students further develop their skills in HTML and CSS by using Adobe Dreamweaver Creative Cloud to design and maintain web sites. This is a project-oriented course in which students learn the coding environment used in the software to create websites and applications for various digital devices.

CIS 190 – Graphic Design for the Web I

Prerequisites: CIS 175

In this course, students use Adobe XD CC to develop user experience web designs. Students hone their web designing skills by working with graphics and wireframes, and creating simple interactive click-through prototypes.
