You will acquire the skills needed to install and support one or more distributions of the Linux operating system and learn information and skills that will be helpful as you prepare for CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI exams (Exam Codes: XK0-004).
This course is intended for entry-level computer support professionals with basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems, who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of Linux concepts and skills to prepare for a career in Linux support or administration, or to prepare for CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI exams (Exam Codes: XK0-004). A typical student in the CompTIA Linux+ Certification course should have at least 6 to 12 months of Linux experience.

Who should take the CompTIA Linux+ course?
This course is ideal for entry-level IT professionals, computer support specialists, and individuals who want to build their Linux administration skills. It is especially useful for students interested in careers involving Linux systems, servers, technical support, or system administration.
Are there any prerequisites for the Linux+ course?
CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ knowledge are recommended before taking the course. Students should also have a basic understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking concepts. Some previous hands-on experience with Linux is helpful.
How long is the CompTIA Linux+ Boot Camp?
The Boot Camp is a five-day instructor-led course that typically runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. ASM also offers Evening Virtual training options for students who need a more flexible schedule.
Can I take the CompTIA Linux+ course online?
Yes. ASM offers Virtual Instructor-Led Training using Zoom. Students can attend live classes remotely while participating in instructor-led lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on lab activities.
What do I need to attend the Virtual Linux+ course?
Students attending virtually need a computer and a reliable internet connection. ASM provides students with the information necessary to connect to the virtual classroom and access the required training and lab resources.
What is included with the Linux+ training?
ASM’s instructor-led Linux+ training includes live instruction, course curriculum, extensive hands-on lab activities, a practice exam, and an exam voucher. Students also receive access to ASM’s one-year free course retake policy at the ASM headquarters facility.
Does this course include hands-on Linux labs?
Yes. Hands-on lab activities are included as part of the course. The labs are designed to reinforce the Linux concepts and administrative skills covered during instructor-led training.
Which CompTIA Linux+ exam does the course prepare me for?
The current CompTIA Linux+ certification exam is XK0-006 (V8). The exam evaluates practical Linux administration skills including system management, services and user management, security, automation and scripting, and troubleshooting.
What types of jobs can CompTIA Linux+ help prepare me for?
Linux+ skills can be useful for positions such as Linux Systems Administrator, Linux Systems Engineer, Help Desk Technician, Unix Administrator, and other technical support or systems administration roles.
Where is the CompTIA Linux+ training offered?
Training is available at ASM’s headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Virtual instructor-led training is also available, and on-site training for organizations can be arranged upon request.
